Friesian Racing makes successful comeback on tarmac

Friesian Racing’s sealed surface branch (Andrew and Joel) have made a fantastic return to the stages last weekend at the Abingdon Car-nival stages rally.  From a competitive field of over 100 entries the team reached an impressive 23rd overall and 8th in class.

This despite being away from the scene for 2 1/2 year’s following the engine failure that we had at Rockingham at the end of 2005.

A slow start to the engine build quickly gained pace once the entry had gone in for the Abingdon events, but work and life for all members of the team worked hard to get in the way of the preparations.  Still the night before the event with barely enough running-in miles on the new engine we were ready to give it a go.

Andrew was quickly on the pace behind the wheel and had masked his usual pre-event nerves well, whilst Joel was as ever laid back (have you seen his seat?!) but was quickly into the swing of things, whilst Henry, Sue, Lesley and Daisy tried their best to keep things running smoothly.
